Sharing some favorites today - especially this place. It's so silent and beautiful - when you stand there you can see the city to the left and the endless ocean to the right. It's the perfect combo.
Today we tried the Icelandic 'skata' (stingray) wich is traditionally only eaten on the 23rd of december. Not unlike fermented sharkmeat, many young Icelanders have failed to test this 'delicacy' since the strong odor discourages them from trying it, including me. Yet most of our elders love nothing more. It is so putrefied that when you take the first bite it will numb your nose and throat – that's how strong the smell is (I held my breath). It then gets stuck in your clothes. Yay...
Now I'm sipping a warm cup of coffee down town, wondering if I'm bothering the other customers with the smell of 'skata'. Haha!
